Module 6: Video Review

Through the Eyes of a Sculptor:http://digital.films.com/play/RUXEGP

1. The first video explained in vivid detail about how artist go about finding materials, using different processes, finally the use of different sculpting methods. The process

2. The book and the video discussed the same processes like the act of making molds and casting, also carving and assembling.

3. I really enjoyed the videos this time around they seem to have more of a hand on approach than the other videos that we watched in the past. And it was really cool to see the whole process through in through. From finding the perfect slab of marble to carve, to making a mold to cast out of, to the carving,  to the finished sculptures. And unlike the book with was a little confusing on some of the details the video made the processes much clearer.

1. In this video we were introduced to glass and some of the processes used to make glass products and ceramics.

2. Like the book it went over how glass is made, certain types of glass, and it briefly talked about ceramics, and things that can be made out of clay and the whole firing process.

3. Unlike the last video, comparatively, this one was more informational but it seems like they were just spitting out facts. They did show some of the processes, but I have to say that I truly like the book’s descriptions better because I could understand that much better..
